USDA’s MyPlate serves up a healthy new eating plan

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently ended two decades of food pyramid diagrams and introduced MyPlate, a nutrition guide that depicts five food groups with a plate and a glass. This back-to-basics illustration shows a healthy plate, with roughly 50 percent fruits and vegetables, 30 percent grains, 20 percent protein and a dairy serving.
