Meghan Dukes, DC, MSPT

After completing my Master's Degree and working as a physical therapist in both hospital and outpatient settings, I decided that I wanted more tools at my disposal for working with musculoskeletal problems.  I returned to school and earned my Doctoral degree to become a Chiropractic Physician from the University of Western States (formerly Western States Chiropractic College) in Portland, Oregon.  While in school, I continued to work as a physical therapist and joined the Kaiser Permanente family in the Northwest Region.

After graduation, I relocated to Denver and continued my work with here as a physical therapist.  Once here, I was introduced to the Centers for Complementary Medicine (www.kpccm.org) and the transition was natural.  I love being a part of the collaborative family of providers within CCM, working closely with massage therapists and acupuncturists to provide the best in complementary care for our patients.  Being able to stay connected, not only to each other, but also to the entire care team through the KP HealthConnect (electronic medical records) system, is an amazingly efficient way to work with our patients.

As part of the Elevate Your Health Colorado blog team, I look forward to being able to continue working on my passion for heath education, not only within the scope of Chiropractic, but also integrating all of the great complementary health services that Kaiser Permanente offers.

Education:
Doctor of Chiropractic, University of Western States; Master of Science - Physical Therapy, Boston University
Specialty:
Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Favorite Colorado Activities:
I love spending time in the mountains with my husband and our two dogs. We hike, run and bike in the warmer months and love skiing and snowboarding throughout the winter. When we're not playing in the mountains, we keep busy working on the restoration of our almost 100-year-old home and checking out all the great restaurants Denver has to offer.
