About me
My name is Joyce Gottesfeld, and I’m excited to start blogging!
I’m an Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Kaiser Permanente Colorado, and have been for 14 years. I came to Kaiser Permanente after completing my residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. That’s where I met my husband of 15 years, Marshall. He is also an Obstetrician/ Gynecologist. He works at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and that is also where Kaiser Permanente admits many of our patients, so we get to see each other at work a lot—but don’t actually work together. (That is a small, but very important distinction.) The nurses love it when “Gottesfeld and Gottesfeld” are on call!
Working with women over the years at Kaiser Permanente has been a real gift, and I have learned so much. Part of my purpose in writing this blog is to share what I have learned about women, their health, and life in general.
I grew up back East and went to the University of Pennsylvania in Philly for college, and then Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
I stopped moving west when I met Marshall, as his family is all in Denver (and many are/were OB/GYN physicians… a “gynasty”). We have have 3 beautiful daughters, now 12, 9, and 5 years old.
I am training for my first marathon with one of my co-workers. It is a lot of fun, though I am not naturally athletic, so it has been an evolutionary process. So on this blog, I bet there will also be some posts on being a parent, a wife, staying fit, and other life topics.
I hope there will be something for everyone. Happy reading!
